En cause ? Le dessin ci-dessus publié en couverture de l’hebdomadaire politique Marmik en août 2025 et partagé sur son compte Instagram, cumulant plus de deux millions de vues. Gaurav Sarjerao y livre une critique des relations que le Premier ministre Narendra Modi entretient avec le président américain, sur fond de collaboration renforcée en matière de défense. Cette censure en ligne s’inscrit dans le contexte d’une opération plus vaste menée par la police de l’État d’Haryana en concertation avec le Ministère de l’électronique et des technologies de l’information (MeitY). Le Média The Print fait état de centaines de posts et de profils retirés en l’espace d’un mois dans le cadre d’une opération ciblant « les contenus répréhensibles, antinationaux, antireligieux et trompeurs». The above cartoon, published on the cover of the political weekly Marmik in August 2025 and shared on his Instagram account, has accumulated more than two million views. In it, Gaurav Sarjerao criticizes Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s relationship with the US president, against a backdrop of increased defense cooperation. This online censorship is part of a wider operation carried out by the Haryana state police in consultation with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
